The joury finds the defendant to be guilty your Honor!

You know that horrible, guilty feeling you get when you watch documentaries and videos, and read books about the nasty stuff that goes on in our world? I have that feeling. Today in IR, we watched a very depressing video on what children have to go through in the third world countries around the world. It was one of the saddest things I have ever seen. Babies were dying of diseases considered to be minor here in the United States. Who would think that so many children all ovre would die of diarhea by the thousands each day? Here, you just give the kid some Gatorate or Pedia-Light, rest them, and they are fine with in a matter of days. But kids die from it, all because their water is so dirty. So many people do not have clean water, and as a result, many, among whom are mostly children, die. And we complain so many things that don't matter here in this country where all around us, millions are dying. From this video, I learned that the cost for 5 nukes would be enough money to set up water treatment systems for most of the developing world. And do you know how much water we waste leaving the sink running when we brush our teeth?

Also I learned about how global warming constantly drives children and their families out of their homes. It is so hot with so little rain, that crops can not grow. And this is caused by devloped states (by which I mean countries, Becky, my teacher forces us to use different vocab then most people use to describe some things) who have cars, and factories and other things that burn anything for energy, releasing CO2 (carbon dioxide) into the air, which traps heat, and there you have it; global warming. It said on there that if everyone in the US would use one less gallon of gas every week, around 3 billion gallons would be saved a week. This would help the ozone layer to repair its self, and let the earth cool down a bit. Not to mention, think about how much oil we would save! Ya so, it's just something to think about. I might go to Africa on a missions trip next summer (I still have to find a group, and my mom still has to think about it, cuz she would rather I go with an NGO, but they usually only talk people older then 18.) to help the people there. I really want to go to Sudan, but it's so dangerous right now with all of the war raging about there. So I donno.

Oh, and the most depressing, yet most fascinating book you could ever read is First they Killed my Father by Loung Ung. Oh it is so sad!

Anyways, I have to go, byebye!
